Cell phones are quickly becoming one of the most widely used pieces of technology in the world. Initially cell phones were only used to send and receive calls but with a fast influx of new technology, they are a lot more that just a phone. Everyday a new cell phone enters the market with a new amazing feature. First it was games for your phone, next came the digital camera and then after that the video camera and these are just a few forms of technology to make their way onto today's cell phones. What used to be a tool for making calls now has the ability to do much, much more.

A few years ago, a cell phone came out that could take pictures using a built in digital camera. This was seen as a huge stepping stone in the cell phone market. As technology has progressed over the years, so has the quality of these camera phones. Initially, the quality of the photos that these cameras could take was low, but over the last few years, they have started to catch up to the quality of real digital cameras. Soon it is expected that there will be no need to purchase a digital camera as every cell phone will have one that is of excellent quality.
So what would you normally pay for a cell phone with a digital camera? When they were first introduced onto the market they sold for a hefty price, but over time they have become cheaper and cheaper and now most people can afford to buy one.
Palm-Like Capabilities
The advancements in the cell phone go way beyond photo and video capabilities. As technology gets more advanced, cell phones continue to be born with more features. For example, some versions of the cell phone make it possible to keep a detailed schedule. It used to be you had to have a palm device as well as a cell phone to be truly organized and connected. Now, you can do it all with your cell phone.
As technology advances, so will the cell phone. These two go hand-in-hand because in our modern society, there is nothing more important that fast easy communication, therefore making the cell phone a necessity. Technology companies are always looking for ways to make it easier for people to stay in touch with one another and the cell phone industry exemplifies this to a major extent. It's exciting to think what cell phone will look like in 5 to 10 years time. Perhaps they won't even exist. Maybe someone will work out a way to build them into our brains! Who knows?
The cell phone has become a staple of the modern world and they are truly modern marvels. They are technological wonders that make them must-haves for those who can afford them. With more and more phones being offered for little to no money as an incentive to sign contracts, soon, everyone in the world will have a cell phone. That is, if they don't already have one.
