If you're faced with an awkward shot, try to think about how you can swing, keep from moving your head and keeping your balance. Try to imagine the line in which your club will travel.

Unfortunately an awkward shot is something that happens more often than any of us would like. I think you know what I mean. It's those short shots that throw you off balance. Definitely not as simple as the professionals make them look. Let's take a look at ways of overcoming those awkward shots.

Think about where the club head need to travel before you set up your shot. Consider where it needs to be for the greatest distance, in a straight line. The ball will make contact with the club head for several inches. You'll be able to see the relationship your feet will have with this line so that you can determine your stance, a few practice swings will make this clear.

Don't allow yourself to sway when you're about to hit the ball. Check your balance prior to swinging. If you feel uncomfortable or are having a problem keeping the correct balance, shift your body until you find a comfortable position, one in which you don't feel any tension in your swing. In order to be able to swing smoothly, you have to be relaxed. Keeping your feet still will help you address the ball correctly. Focus on the ball.

Keep your eye on the ball from the beginning to the end of your swing. Don't lose focus on the ball, even if you find yourself in a difficult shot. Keeping focused will help you hit the ball solidly and cleanly.

Focusing on the ball will give you a golf swing technique that will be free of faults and you will hit the ball correctly. Keeping your head still during the entire swing, until the club head meets the ball, you will definitely notice an improvement. Keeping these things in mind will all you to hit the ball with confidence and assurance, even if you have an awkward shot.

Weather can certainly add to the issues of making a shot more difficult. You should keep your feet closer together if the wind is blowing. A windy situation makes it twice as important to hit the ball correctly, don't be mistaken that you only need to hit the ball harder because of the wind.

If you have an extremely awkward shot, it's more important to relax your muscles to make a good shot. A great tip. When making a shorter shot, your feet should be brought closer together. This is where you want to hit the ball true and not with all your strength. This will keep it from bouncing away and will reduce the travel distance.

Learning how to handle difficult shots will make your game more enjoyable, you'll feel more confident and your golf score will be lower!

Remember that difficult and awkward shots are something every golfer will need to deal with. Take the time to conquer this challenge; you'll be glad you did. We hope you've learned some valuable tips in this Golf Swing Technique.
