You may not be familiar with baby shower games at all, and wonder at their importance when the baby him or herself is not even old enough to participate in them and have fun. But the matter of fact is, these games are more for the people who are old enough to appreciate them. And being old enough to appreciate this, you should kick back and have a good time, knowing that this is - above everything else - a celebration of a new soul coming into the world.
Chances are, the people in your vicinity will welcome the chance to celebrate without any serious notions clouding the affair. There are a couple of baby shower games that would make the occasion more fun and engaging for all concerned, and this is where the event organizers can have fun and let their creative juices flow freely!
If you want to stick to a theme, even your shower games should stick to a theme, right? And in this case, the theme is babyhood. So why not come up wtih variations of popular games - such as "pin the diaper on the baby" instead of "pin the tail on the donkey"?
Other games that may take the interest of your guests would be creative stuff like "Feed the baby." This game works with a set of couples - one of whom becomes the "baby." The object of the game is to have the "parent" half of the couple feed the "baby" the required amount of baby food (say, one tiny gerber's jar!) the fastest. The "baby"'s hands will probably need to be tied behind his/her back... or else restrained or forbidden to move in some way... so that any spillage will count against the couples who participate.
If you don't have the budget to risk for this sort of obligation, don't just throw your hands up in surrender and decide to decline an invitation. After all, you have the option to make the gift yourself - and better yet, you can make it with the help of your friends!
Thinking up games for a baby shower could be it a group activity between you and your closest family or friends. You could put your heads together on how to spend the budget wisely, and pick out the materials that would maximize your time and effort. You could, for example, think of party favors that are made of origami or non-toxic, inexpensive clay or wax!
