Ideas for Back To School Volunteer Projects
Make a bulletin board with photographs of the new teachers and staff so that everyone can learn the new faces.
Label the different classrooms and objects around school in both English and Spanish. For example, Art Room, Cafeteria, Principal's Office, Library, etc.
Make a video tour of your school to show to new students or people who are thinking about moving to your neighborhood.
Put together a book bag of school supplies for students who have difficulty affording all of the supplies that they might need for school.
Make a poster of the appropriate steps to do to go through the lunch line. Place your poster new the entrance to the cafeteria.
Make a poster on how to check out a book from the library. Please it by the check out counter in the Library.
Make a poster telling someone how to use the card catalogue in the Library.
Create a lost and found for lost school supplies such as pens, pencils, scissors, etc . in your classroom. Students who have lost their supplies can "rent" the use of the supplies in your lost and found for the day.
