Here are some other ideas of helpful projects that would be of benefit to Senior Citizens.

1. Rake the leaves in a Senior's yard.

2. Assist with shoveling the snow from a walkway.

3. Help with the grocery shopping.

4. Check the safety equipment in a Senior's home.
? Be sure to check the fire extinguisher, and batteries in the smoke detector.
? Are there any loose rugs or electrical wires that could cause tripping and a fall?
? Do you need to help install a railing on the bathtub, or help with special equipment for the toilet?
? Is the telephone or other equipment to contact help in an emergency easily accessible?
? Are the house or apartment numbers easily visible?
? Does the porch light work?
? Are all medications properly labeled?
? Are there any medicines that have expired?

5. Look at family photos together to stimulate memory.
6. Garden together.
7. Do home chores.
8. Collect an oral history.
9. Organize a "Senior Prom".
10. Co-write a community history.
11. Teach an enrichment class together.
12. Write or read letters.
13. Organize outings to museums, movies, concerts, shopping.
14. Host a tea for Seniors.
15. Offer a low-impact exercise classes.
16. Teach a Senior to use the computer.
