? Make a calendar containing holidays from cultures in your community. Include some explanations about the meanings and customs of the various holidays. For more information look at www.kidlink.org/KIDPROJ/MCC.
? Start a shopping service or coop-op for the purchase of favorite ethnic foods.
? Start a club that will celebrate the various holidays mentioned in your multicultural calendar.
? Write a pamphlet explaining the various holidays of cultures in your community. Distribute it in your community.
? Create a multicultural band with instruments from around the world.
? Create an international foods club. Each month host a dinner featuring a cuisine from a different part of the world.
? Have people from varying cultures in your community decorate squares for a quilt depicting their heritage. Sew the squares together and display your fabulous quilt.
? Compile some menus reflecting ethnic cuisine preferences for diabetic, low cholesterol or low salt diets.
? Create a club or social hour for elders of a particular heritage to get together to socialize and do activities.
? Create a mothers and toddlers group that will introduce various cultures to its members.
? Devise a plan to help programs that deliver home meals (Meals on Wheels, Mobile Meals, etc.) to design and deliver meal plans that are more culturally sensitive.
? Start a youth group that will do activities from different cultures.
? Start a peer support group or club that will help youth from varying cultures create a positive self-image and self esteem. Discuss various ways you might counteract prejudice and misunderstandings in the community.

? Create a book with simple words, such as hello, peace, friend, etc. using different world languages. Take this book to a pre-school or kindergarten class and make a presentation showing and reading to the students your book.

? Host a talent show or fair featuring cooking, art, music, drama, and literature from different cultures.
? Host a Multicultural fair where differing cultures will each represent their heritages at varying booths.
? Obtain a translation of a well-known play from another culture. Create a dramatic presentation for the community. As an introduction to the play, teach the audience a little bit about the author and the culture from which he came.
? Create a presentation or workshop that teaches people about customs and etiquette from various cultures.
? Do some community research to determine some of the problems and issues that are faced by minorities in your community when facing nursing home care. Make some recommendations to various facilities in your area.
? Create and distribute a pamphlet explaining procedures and vocabulary (in both languages) for interacting in various situations such as a doctor's office, the grocery store, public transportation, school or various social service agencies.
