While carpool India is a relatively newer concept, but its merits far outstretches slight inconveniences.

If we take the examples of big cities, carpool in India has a bright future ahead. Carpools in Delhi and carpools in Mumbai are increasingly witnessing a splurge that has not been witnessed before. Actually, the concept of Indian carpool is quite unique in that different people have different needs but more often than not, they have a similar destination. Most commercial and industrial areas in the cities are closely situated. This makes it very easy for the commuters to share the burden of traveling to and from their work places. Those who do not own a car need not lose heart. Pool the resources and you can opt for car rental in India. A rented car on a daily basis won't burn a big hole in your pockets if four people equally share the burden.

The ever-rising prices of crude oil in the international markets mean constant increase in the fuel prices. Millions of middle-class Indians can ill-afford such expenditure. And many others are living below poverty line. Moreover, the Indian roads are getting clogged everyday with vehicles of all shapes and sizes virtually choking the smooth movement of traffic. In such a bleak scenario, carpool has come on as a whiff of fresh air. People suddenly find themselves as equally responsible for fall in the standard of living in India. The savings on fuel expenditure and ease of traffic movement is luring the Indians towards carpool.
