There are many techniques and strategies on how you can profit from a garage sale. You may want to prepare in advance so that you will be able to do the preparation and prevent you from cramming when the day of your garage sale is nearing.
You may prepare 3 weeks before the day of the event and create a selling team if you would like to host a big garage sale. Here are some garage sales selling techniques that will help you in increasing your profits.
1. You need to know your targeted customers. Make sure that you sell different kinds of items. You may include your personal things and old appliances if you would like to dispose of them.
2. You may check out the local prices of second hand appliances and furniture. If your item isn't that old, you may price it a little low. In this way, you will be able to attract the customer's attention and make them want to buy the item.
3. You should familiarize yourself with each item that you will display on your garage sale. Customers may ask about the history of your item and where it was bought.
4. You may offer special discount prices to some items. You may find customers still asking for discounts even if the items are already priced low. You should be able to identify the items that are still expensive in the market.
5. You may offer tokens to customers who have bought multiple items at your garage sale. Giving away tokens is a simple way of thanking customers for dropping by and buying some of your old things.
6. Make sure that all items are properly displayed. You may use a table so that items are visibly seen and customers won't have a hard time looking for their targeted items. You may also set up a blanket to place items that are big like appliances and furniture.
7. You may distribute flyers and printouts about the garage sale. You may post them at your local establishments such as coffee shops and convenient stores.
Always remember to offer a smile to customers visiting. Being cheerful and accommodating to your customers properly will make them comfortable in shopping around for items. You may also invite them to visit again and bring their friends with them the next time they come. In this way, you will be able to make good profits from your garage sale.
