Duplication - How to Successfully Build a Direct Marketing business through Duplication

What does duplication mean? Well, according to the dictionary it means, â??Identically copied from an originalâ??. In Direct Marketing terms, duplication means to show, teach, and assist others to repeat a series of steps. This can result in a tremendous growth in your organization, despite your own efforts. Your business can, then, take on a life of its own. If you examine the most successful people in this industry, you will notice that they are all essentially doing the same thing but with different opportunities.

So, then, how are these people so successful when so many others fail? They simply all have a system in place; one involving duplication. These systems are like well oiled marketing funnels that are designed to take someone through to the next level with maximum conversion. It becomes a matter of just plugging someone in. The successful people make sure that everyone uses their system in the same manner so they will achieve very similar results.

First and foremost, the systems that these people utilize must be SIMPLE. Signing up should be very clear cut and streamlined. Upon seeing your email or sales letter, there needs to be an immediate call to action. There is no room for ambiguity.

Next, it is extremely important to get people to start earning money right away. It certainly does not have to be thousands of dollars. Even as little as $10 or $20 can make a huge difference in how they feel. They need to see the proof that this actually works for them, not just everyone else. Without any type of proof, they can easily lose their focus as well as their trust in you. If a strong degree of trust and credibility is established in the early stages, you can then market your higher end programs to these people.

In addition, these systems all seem to have what is known as a self funded proposal. This means that, essentially, the cost is taken out of the marketing process (i.e. the leads pay for themselves). You begin by promoting something small, like an e-book or less expensive business opportunity. Then, you show them how to market that same product netting them a portion of the sale. Once they begin to make money and cover their marketing costs, they become more excited and confident that they can actually make this work. At this point, you can market your primary or higher end program to these people. They are already making money and feeling good and many will want to take it to the next level.

In summary, the purpose of this type of system is to sell your people your primary product or opportunity without having had to pay to prospect to them. Again, that cost is covered by the sales of the smaller item or items. This is the reason for the systemâ??s high attrition rate; why would they want to quit if they are covering their marketing costs and making some additional profit?
